“Hey, just checking in. I’m thinking we’ll take the kids to the park around noon on Sunday. How’s that sound? I’ll probably have to drag them out of the house—same old story—but they’ll have fun once we’re there.”
She glanced at the wind gauge, adjusting her stance slightly. The air was still. He was relaxed, scrolling through his phone.
“We’ll probably hit the fields first, let them burn off some energy. I’ll bring a soccer ball too, let them kick it around. You know how they're always trying to one-up each other. It's kind of funny, actually. Been practicing my own kick lately, but I’m not sure I’m ready to show them yet.”
